The Milne Problem for the Radiative Transfer Equations (with Frequency Dependence)
We study the following stationary frequency dependent transport equation: p,dxf + o(v,T)[f-B„(T]\ =0, x>0, i/>0, p €]-!;!(, //. cr(u,T)[Bu(T)-f]du^=0, R+x]-l;l[ f(0,pt,i>)=0, u e]0;l[, where Bv is the well-known Planck function appearing in astrophysics. We are able to describe the asymptotic behavior of / and T for x large, when a(u, T) is of the special form o(u,T) = o(v)k(T). Our ...
متن کاملA Solution of Radiative Transfer In Isotropic Plane-Parallel Atmosphere By Integrating Milne Equation
In this paper we solve the inversion problem of the radiative transfer process in the isotropic plane-parallel atmosphere by iterative integrations of the Milne integral equation. As a result, we obtain the scattering function in the form of a cubic polynomial in optical thickness. The author has already solved the same problem by iterative integrations of Chandrasekhar’s integral equation. In ...
متن کاملFirefly Algorithm Inverse Radiative Transfer Problem
The study of inverse problems applied to radiative transfer has been the subject of numerous studies aiming many applications ranging from medicine to industry formulation for the parameter estimation inverse problems in radiative heat transfer is minimization of an objective function associated with the problem being analyzed. usually inspired by nature behaviors, have been shown effective in ...
متن کاملThe Milne problem with a force term
We study the stationary half-space linearized Boltzmann equation with a force term decaying to zero at infinity. We extend to this case the results of Bardos, Caflisch and Nicolaenko for a gas of hard spheres without external force, namely we prove existence, uniqueness and asymptotic properties of the solution. Our analysis includes the case of hard potentials.
متن کاملRadiative Transfer Problem in Dusty Galaxies: a Program Suite
We present a program suite for the radiative transfer problem solution in axisymmetrical dusty galaxy disks, intended primarily for spectropho-tometric analysis of stellar populations by means of integrated and differential photometry. The solution is obtained using a 2-D ray-tracing algorithm at a discrete wavelength set, emphasizing careful treatment of the effects of light scattering by inte...
